The Guildhall Art Gallery is a amazing and isn't very well known, even to Londoners. The gallery is free entry and not only does it have gorgeous artwork, there's also a hidden Roman Amphitheatre in the basement!

It's hard to believe there really is a Roman Amphitheatre in the basement of this building! It was discovered about 30 years ago. They managed excavate and restore a good portion of the 2000 year old structure. It's pretty incredible and definitely worth a visit.

The Gallery also contains gorgeous art dating from 17th century to present, some pre-Raphaelite and some documenting London's history, like the Great fire of London!

If you manage to make it there before 16th July, there is a beautiful exhibition on at the moment called 'Echoes Across the Century' focusing predominantly on World War 1, it's beautiful, haunting and educational.
